Back home in Atlanta, Jamie had never been one to wake up before 11am willingly. Every day for school, her best friend had to practically drag her out of bed and toss her in the shower. However, here on the island she found she couldn't sleep well. As far as she could tell, she just needed more time to adjust to climate and surroundings to be able to fully relax. Then again, it could have something to do with being a slave. Jamie didn't want to disappoint Damon in anyway and give him reason to get rid of her, so she found she was sleeping far more lightly that she used to. Just about every sound in the house woke her. Maybe once she was around her master for awhile, she'd sleep better, but who knew.
Exhausted, she'd rolled out of bed around eight that morning and pulled on the first things her fingers touched. Without really looking in the mirror or brushing her hair, she made her way downstairs and into the kitchen for coffee. Her head was pounding and hopefully the caffeine would help alleviate the headache. After downing one cup, she poured herself another and went in search of something to occupy her time until she saw her master or anyone else who might find her. Making her way into the library, Jamie started browsing the selection. It didn't take long for her to figure out how to occupy her time.
Pulling every book off the shelf, she started making piles. Each pile was a different genre. After they were all sorted into piles, Jamie started rearranging the piles so that they were first alphabetical by author then by title. Sitting on the floor in the middle of large piles of books, her eyes were down looking at the stack of books she'd just completed to make sure everything was right.
