Who: Giles, Lillah, and Beckett
Where: Giles' Home
When: Week 3, Sunday Afternoon
What: Beckett is meeting with Lillah and her master to discuss her ex-boyfriend.
Rating: R at least for possible mentions of past physical and sexual abuse
Status: Closed; In progress
The home at the address Lillah had passed along to her was as exquisite as a lot of the properties on Hiddekel Island. It wasn't the largest she'd seen, but it was certainly fancier than her apartment in Jannati City. Most masters that had the sort of money to purchase a slave could afford some of the nicer homes, after all, and this one had the benefit of not being overwhelmingly huge.
With only a small notepad in hand and her firearm securely fastened in its holster, Beckett approached the front door, knocking on it three times before standing back and waiting for the answer. She hoped Lillah has spoken to her master about the visit but prepared for that to have not been the case. Talking about the kind of thing she'd been through was never easy to admit to anyone, after all. This was also the reason she'd decided to leave her poker face at the office, wanting to let the girl know that she was genuinely on her side and prepared to do whatever she could to make sure that her asshole of an ex wouldn't be able to contact her. She'd have personally been happy to have the girl's master do whatever he wanted to the scumbag and look the other way, but doing what she did meant bringing people to justice, not endorsing the vigilante version. Therefore, she'd have to get a feel for this Rupert Giles and figure out just what sort of person he was in that regard as well.
Standing back a few steps from the door, Beckett took the time to observe the scenery and file away every detail of what she could see from her vantage point of the house. It wasn't exactly the sort of thing people tended to do on their days off, but she'd brought the case to the Captain and taken full responsibility for it. She didn't like to trust this kind of thing to anyone else if she could help, especially knowing that there were crooked cops who had wormed their way into the system that might love nothing more than to sell Lillah out to the asshole who might come looking for her.
