Re: Manny & Penny & Open?
Mandeep had checked in on a few of his patients before meeting briefly with the Healer who'd be taking over his duties for the next shift. He stressed that he was still available for any emergencies and the other Healer, who had just much if not more experience than him, just gave him a patient smile and told him to enjoy himself. Most of his colleagues truly believed he worked too much, too often, and too hard. Manny went back to his office and changed into clean clothes - a simple oxford and slacks - before apparating from the hospital to Diagon Alley. He had gotten in just before Penny had made her announcements and was glad to witness it, and even gladder for being in the back of the crowd at the time.
He turned at his name and smiled, holding out the bouquet he'd picked up on his walk, "Congratulations little sister, this is amazing," he said, indicating the shop and all her wonders. "Also," he said, having handed over the sunflowers he then pulled a shrunken box from his pocket and handed her the birthday gift, an ancient mortar and pestle that he'd had shipped in from the Aztec area of the Americas.
"And don't worry, if it's something you'd rather display or sell here in the shop, I won't be offended," he said with a genuinely proud smile and then a chuckle.
