Molly welcomed Cassandra in with air kisses and a bright smile. "You look fabulous! How do you manage to look so put together coming straight from the dungeons of the Ministry?" She asked, "Not that I know that you work in dungeons, but it's what I've always pictured when I think of you Unspeakables," she added with a chuckle.
She directed Cassandra to her crafting room and instructed her to get comfortable and change into the basics Molly had asked her to bring. The slim fitting body-con basics would be much easier to fit her in than anything else besides her bra and underwear. That would be later, probably. Molly went to the kitchen and grabbed them a bottle of white wine and two glasses.
She proceeded to do the full fitting, marking down notes as she went and stopping every so often to take a sip of her wine. Cassandra filled her in on her burgeoning social media work and Molly caught Cassandra up on all the muggle gossip care of Zee.
Then came the design portion of the evening. Cassandra had asked for her dress - her first from Molly, as she assured her she'd want more - for a holiday party of some sort. Molly didn't ask too many questions about the event itself, worried it was something to do with Cassandra's office at the Department of Mysteries. She really had been trying to be understanding and respectful of Cassandra's career and the secrecy it involved. Personally, she couldn't imagine having to keep such a large part of her life completely secret. Molly wasn't very good at keeping secrets, if you asked her, though her "double life" probably said otherwise. In a way, her work in the muggle world was probably a pretty good analogy to Cassandra's work at the Ministry.
"So, I pulled reds and greens and golds - with your colors I think the combination would would make you look like a Christmas goddess, while keeping it traditional in a way that most people shy away from these days." Molly loved the more homey, old school design of Christmas. Silvers and blues were so popular these days, but she loved the warmth of the older traditions. And it was true that the color combination would make Cassandra just absolutely glow. In particular, she had in mind a deep forest green, a shimmering gold, and a rich bold burgundy. The forest green and the burgundy were both velvet, and the gold was silk - an odd combination to be sure, but the surprise in it excited Molly Sue to no end. It was a challenge, to make them work together, and she was eager to tackle it. She also pulled a mint green and saturated red combination that had white as a pop rather than the gold. She wanted to give Cassandra options, after all, even if she did have a certain creative in mind. Molly had been designing for ages but only designing for clients for a little bit, now. She always wanted to keep in mind that a design for a client was a collaboration but still needed to speak to her aesthetic as an artist.
Luckily, Cassandra decided to leave the final decision to Molly, and the younger witch confirmed that the darker combination would work for the event in mind.
