His smirk deepened at Penny's reply, pleased to hear her admit it. He also wasn't disappointed that his instinct had been confirmed--Phoenix certainly read queer to him, and he definitely had it in his head that he would be indulging tonight.
And then she continued talking, and his smirk slipped to a frown. Why was she always excusing herself before he was able to properly proposition her to join him and someone else? He'd thought he'd read the room right and that Phoenix would be a partner she wouldn't be opposed to sharing him with, but perhaps he'd read it wrong.
"If you feel you must," was all he said on it, flicking a card to the table and turning his attention back to Phoenix, effectively dismissing her again. "What do you say? Should we see what other games we might enjoy?"
Phoenix looked to Penny, seeming to have a conversation with their gazes alone, before looking back at him. "I'm always up for more fun," he answered, certain that Penny wouldn't hold it against him.
