Peter had a few close friends, but wasn't known for having a ton of them. Never had, not even in school. He wasn't precisely picky, but he preferred just a few close friends because he found it hard to open up to others in a deep way. He'd always been on the quieter side. Just sending that message to Addison had actually been rather difficult for him to do, putting himself out there like that, even with his sister's encouragement. She'd be pleased to know he followed through though.
He wasn't a person who developed feelings for others quickly, either, which often ended up poorly for the man. But he liked Addison, more as time went on, as well. Jules was completely correct about that, she made him happy. He wasn't completely certain if it was romantic or not, but he knew he wanted to spend time with her and was rather sillily and absurdly pleased that she had decided to come tonight, practically on the spur of the moment. It made him feel good.
Keeping an ear out for a knock, he did a little bit of tidying around the place, but it didn't need much of it. He was generally a neat person, which was probably good especially considering how much he worked at times. So he was there quickly when she knocked, opening the door with a warm smile. "Good evening, Addison," he greeted her, wondering whether or not it would be appropriate to kiss her cheek as he suddenly had the urge to. Instead, he reached out to help her out with what she was carrying. "I'm really glad you could make it tonight."
