It felt like it was kind of a big deal that he'd reached out on his birthday, naming her as one of the people he most wanted quality time with for his birthday. Addison was doing her best to not read too much into it, but it had been just about four months since they'd first met, and they'd gone on so many outings together already. She hadn't gotten any vibes from him that he might be interested in anything more than friendship, but the more time she spent with him, the more she enjoyed his company. He was sweet and funny in a completely subtle, charming way that she absolutely adored.
Addison was excited to spend this time with him, though she also felt a little bit of self-imposed pressure to get the food right. He'd not given her much to go on, but at least the dessert would be easy. She swung by the grocery store, picking up the main ingredients for dinner, and then swinging by Sweet Nothings to get a chocolate salted caramel cake for dessert. She hadn't bothered to change after work, her outfit casual professional but still cute. When she made it to his townhouse, she took a breath, adjusted the strap of her expanded back that had the groceries in it, and then lifted her free hand that wasn't carrying the box with the cake in it to knock on his door.
