At his assurance that she would not be intruding to take the open seat, Jules gave him a small yet warm smile. "Thank you," she replied, slipping onto the barstool. The bartenders were quite busy with the other patrons, and the last thing she wanted to do was add to the frenzy, so she simply settled in to wait patiently.
She was a little surprised when he spoke to her again, but she turned a bit to engage with him more directly. "I'm not sure," she answered first, her head tilting a bit. "I just...had this feeling that this was where I was supposed to be tonight." Which probably made her sound positively nutty, but she was a terrible liar and saw no reason to try doing so then.
