"Oh, yes! It was a bit scandalous, at that," she stage whispered. "You see, dad had a baby out of wedlock--" Never mind that she Knew about Peter's true parentage. It wasn't something she'd talked to anyone about yet, and she definitely wasn't going to spill the beans to anyone else. "--but the woman didn't want to be a mum, so dad decided to raise him on his own. He and mum went to school together and were friendly enough then, but when Peter was a toddler, they reconnected, and my big brother completely charmed her, and mum decided that she was meant to be his mum and dad's wife. She was a bit of a bigot back then--old Pureblood family that raised her to be so--but dad saw something more in her, and so they began courting one another. He introduced her to the muggle world--the theater, especially--and I think she fell in love with it as much as she did him. Her mum disowned her for marrying a single father, but she never looked back. All they ever wanted was a large, happy, healthy family, and even though they both had problems in their extended families, they created it for themselves. And now, here we all are. Mum's one of the most open, generous people I know, and dad is so steady and reliable. I love them so much," she sighed happily. It was a lot of talking, but Rori had sort of asked and Jules had got the Sense that she meant it.
It was moments like these when Juliet was immensely grateful for her ability to Know things, because she could tell that Rori meant it, and her smile dimpled her cheeks just a bit at it. "Oh Merlin, no, the Leaky is not the social hub at all. The Leaky is like the central hub for travel in our world and a great place to stop off for lunch while shopping. And, sure, they do some events, but in general, you're much better off going to bars and clubs outside Diagon Alley and Victory Road," she explained. "My friend's birthday is next weekend. I'd love for you to come along. I can introduce you to them--I'm sure you'll all get along wonderfully," she suggested, hoping that Rori would take her up on it. Athena and Hailey had always been so great to her, she was sure they would extend that to her new friend.
