Nice weather and a day where she wasn't rostered on to work anywhere had lead to a slightly restless day for Etta. She had finished the last few glass designs she had been picking at across a few evenings, packed everything into the kiln and set it for its cycle. She had been out for lunch, she had done some window shopping, she had done some errands and come evening she was still restless. After a call to her siblings she had sweet-talked her sister into doing the on-call shift until 2am and re-worked her dress from day to night. It had been easy enough to undo a load of buttons, add in jewellery and switch from flats to heels.
She had been at Carnival a little while, sipping at her butterbeer sporadically and trying to get enthused about the Thursday night crowd, when she spotted a familiar face. At the end of the track she abandoned the vague acquaintance she'd been dancing with and sidled up beside Lily. She was curious at her appearance, although couldn't say if she truly wasn't a Carnival regular since Etta herself was an annoyingly sporadic visitor.
"Hello, stranger," she said giving Lily a bright smile. "I love the sparkle."
