Charlie waved a negligent hand. "Invaders usually don't come bearing piles of parchment," he said. In the small chance the man was here for offensive purposes Charlie knew where his wand was. "So no problem. Those trick steps are easy to forget." He'd got stuck more times than he'd care to admit when he first started teaching.
"Ah, Care of Magical Creatures, hence being out in the mud. I'm done with classes for the day though, and everything that needs feeding has been fed for the day," he said. Not every day ended so early for him, but at least for today he could concentrate on marking essays and reviewing lesson plans based on what he'd got done. "Runes was never my thing really, I'm far better at anything practical." He wasn't embarrassed by that any more, although he'd definitely had his moments over the years.
