Farmer’s Markets were one of Eve’s favorite Sunday indulgences. She enjoyed checking out a new one each week, picking up only the best produce and fresh flowers for the vases she had placed around her cottage. She had heard a rumor that there was a vendor with some beautiful pink peonies just outside of Montrose.
She wasted no time, slipping into one of her favorite favorite outfits, boots included, and heading out to catch the Portkey there. She was determined to find some peonies for the cottage today, she was anxiously awaiting her own bush out front of the cottage to bloom. .
Eve had only been there a few moments when she caught sight of the booth, how could she not? The peonies were beautiful and in every color Eve could hope for. As she approached the booth, she brought her slender hands up to brush her blonde curls back, so that she could lean forward to sniff at the flowers. “Oh, they are so beautiful,” she gushed out loud, straightening up. How many did she want? Two dozen? More? “I really shouldn’t go overboard,” she spoke out loud to herself, already mentally debating that she could always get one of the boys to buy them for her, or maybe sell Nate on the idea of buying a ridiculous amount for Taboo. Wouldn’t they look absolutely beautiful in the lounges though?
Gareth breathed easily. With the looming pressure of his application result the team’s bye week was a perfect opportunity to take things easy and refill his cupboards for the upcoming months. He’d dressed casually taken a portkey outside his village in Montrose and ended up at his favorite Farmer’s Market. He had a list, but rarely ever kept to it. The market kept stocked, but it was also seasonal which meant he had to be loose with his wants and his needs. He could get fish from the sailors in Montrose, but the meats and veggies had to be from the Market.
Pushing down the rows of stalls, he stopped at one selling a myriad of mushrooms each with their own earthy smells. Now if he could find some good meat to pair with them.
With her order placed for Taboo, and a dozen bagged up for her in a large tote she had brought with her, she straightened and took in her surroundings again. That was when she noticed someone familiar at the stall next to the one she was at, a handsome gentleman with a jawline to die for. Was he the man she had been messaging with on the dating app? She hoped he wasn’t a catfish.
Natural courage had her strolling over to where he stood, flashing her seductive smile at him. “You wouldn’t happen to be a dashing rogue that offered to read Phantom of the Opera to me?” she asked curiously, swinging her bag ever so slightly in front of herself. The only tell that she might have been nervous. He was far more handsome than any of those pictures had been, so maybe it wasn’t the same man. She’d find out though, wouldn’t she?
