It was already his intention to check on the tiny, seemingly distressed creature, so she hadn't needed to urge him to it. "Of course, love," he murmured gently.
Crossing to the bushes with her, he knelt down and listened for the mewing to sound again, hoping they hadn't spooked the kitten. It took a few long moments, but the soft mewing did start up again. He shifted to the right and pulled his wand out. He cast a spell silently that slowly parted the bushes near where he'd heard the sound, revealing a tiny kitten.
"I'm no expert, but this little one doesn't look old enough to be away from its mum," he said quietly. The kitten looked to be around a month old, by his estimate, and he wondered if the mum was around somewhere. The kitten did look underweight for its size, so perhaps not.
