Post: Welcome, all, to...
Who: Skye + OPEN.
What: The first meet-up of the new book club Skye is trying to get off the ground.
When: 04/28/28; 7p (backdated due to technical issues).
Where: Sweet Nothings (closed to the public other than the meet-up).
Warnings: TBD, if the book is discussed, it does include disturbing topics.
Completion Status: in progress.

It being a Thursday, Skye had spent the day (and dinnertime, actually) in her cubby at The Daily Prophet offices, finishing her weekly Ask Aurora column and putting together The Birdie for Blaise to sift through for one of his liking for her to write up. He didn't always, but he did like to take a peak every few weeks. Skye assumed it was the sort of curiosity that anyone had when they heard there might be juicy gossip abound.

Because of working late, she made it to Sweet Nothings just by 6:45 (when she told Melinda she'd be there to set up), still in her officewear. She thanked the older witch again and set up a little circle of chairs, with the small two-top round tables from the café scattered amongst them for anyone who might like a coffee or tea. Melinda had offered to stay and 'cater' the 'event' and had absolutely refused when Skye had offered to pay her. She'd simply said that she loved the idea of the Club and might even join in the discussion once everyone was settled in with their orders.

And then, Skye set to waiting.

Having made it home from the Ministry with enough time to change out of robes and into a vaguely relevant t shirt with black ripped jeans, they had scarfed down some stir fry, magically done the washing up and run back out of the door. Metaphorically at least. They had at least been so worried about being late that they were still over ten minutes early when they apparated into Diagon Alley. Even a slow walk perusing the windows had only slowed them down a few minutes, since they'd been shopping recently and not much had changed.

Eventually they pushed open the door to Sweet Nothings, glad to find they were still serving drinks and acquired a mocha before sitting down. They felt like they would need the comfort of chocolate with their coffee if they were going to discuss this book. Dropping their copy of the book onto one of the tables they slouched down and glanced at their own chest. "Shit," they muttered, frowning. They had intended to stick a pronoun button on their top, but had apparently come out without it. And since they'd shoved all the stuff they needed in their pockets rather than bringing a bag of any kind they didn't even have a spare.
