Tweak says, "We were only pretending."

When Penny had told her Iris stopped into the shop two days ago, she'd known she should reach out right away and make sure her cousin knew she hadn't meant to keep it from her, but she'd chickened out. Again. Just like she had earlier in the week when she'd been messaging with Iris about Aunt Persephone. It just hadn't felt right to bring it up then. But she'd talked to her dad about it at lunch today, and he'd encouraged her to reach out, that the longer she put it off, the worse it would get. And then Kenzie messaged her with that screenshot, and she'd known she'd put it off too long. The best thing she could do now was simply apologize, offer a simple explanation without displacing blame, and beg forgiveness.

Hiiii, so I am the worst. I should have told you, no doubt about that, I chickened out when we were texting earlier in the week bc you were so worried about your mum and all, and I didn't say anything about it before then bc we were keeping it on the DL and omg I made such a big deal at Christmas that it would never really be a thing between Penny and I, so the thought of admitting it was making me feel ridiculous. And there may be a bit of anxiety about jinxing things. I just love her so fucking much I am SO sorry. It wasn't fair for you to find out like that, and I should have told you ages ago.
