Shifting a leg slightly to try and ease her hip Katarina smiled through the pain and nodded. "Okay so two very basic rules. Red roses are a romance thing unless you have previously discussed otherwise, and white lilies are a funeral thing unless they come as one or two in a mixed bunch. Most of the old flower meanings have drifted away for most people, but those two stuck. Also you should let them know if she has pets because some things are toxic to particular kinds of pets."
Glancing at a nearby display of pre-potted plants Katarina considered other useful information. "If you're not sure she has something to put flowers in make sure you order something with a container she can use again. Otherwise is she the sort of person who wears flowery things, super girly? If she is I'd be inclined to suggest a pastel theme, if not maybe something dramatic and bright? Or even dramatic and dark, I know that's possible too." She was hoping for something hinting at spring herself, perhaps with something like alstroemeria mixed in, since they tended to have staying power and a good range of colours.
