In an unusual move for her Katarina had hair that was curled only as the residual of what had happened several days before. She had vowed to Iris that her next sex injury wouldn’t be purely self inflicted and she had come good on that following a session at Taboo with the couple she had been playing with for some time. Beyond overstretching herself, which was causing her pain, she had also foolishly pushed past some of her spoons limits without having prepared for it ahead of time. It meant she had spent Monday in bed and now she was still both in pain and exhausted.
Still, she was impeccably made up and dressed in a delightful spring dress with a white cardigan over the top, and pale blue heels, and seated in her chair. She had taken her stronger pain potion and it was just about kicking in as she powered her way over the horrendous cobbles of Victory Road. Petals and Pretties might only be next door to The Creative Collection, but she was coming from home ahead of an afternoon shift, determined to brighten up her flat and cheer herself up despite the pain. Her jaw was slowly starting to loosen from its gritted position, but her head was ascending through the clouds. Such was the effect of the stronger painkiller. At least it blunted her increased pain levels somewhat.
She stifled any additional reaction of pain beyond a tightening around the eyes as she rolled over particularly uneven cobblestones outside the flower shop and flicked her wand to open the door. Her reactions were definitely starting to slow down, she noticed absently, as she was very nearly too close before the door swung open to admit her wheelchair. Unfortunately she was too preoccupied with noticing that to also notice that there was someone standing quite close to the doorway and she didn’t let go of the chair’s control stick quickly enough. She accidentally ran into him. Thankfully the slight jolt did make her stop the chair.
“Oh, my goodness. I’m so sorry,” she said, almost stumbling over the words as she tried to rush to apologise quicker than her brain could fully process. Thankfully she hadn’t been moving fast so it was probably a gentle bump.
