As if right on cue, his stomach growled, and he chuckled. "You drive a hard bargain, but I suppose we can eat... the food first." He punctuated the innuendo with a playful waggle of his brows. "Those're for you, by the way," he added a beat later, nodding his head toward the bouquet. "Because I'm the luckiest bloke to have someone so wonderful and supportive even when I'm a grouch from flubbing it on the pitch."
Not that he felt he needed a reason to get her flowers, but rather that he wanted her to know how much he appreciated her.
