Today was Sofía's last day at St. Mungo's with Bash. He started the day off by bringing a packed breakfast - secreted in, shrunk down and hidden in his robes - and having gourmet coffee delivered for them both. They'd started with coffee, after all. Despite their conversations about this extending beyond her time, something about today felt like an ending to him and he wanted to make it special. They ate breakfast in a companionable, happy quiet in his private lab space, a gift he'd ordered for her burning a hole in his denims' pocket. Yes, he knew such a necklace was possessive as hell, but Bash was possessive as hell, and if she didn't like it - or that side of him - she would say so, he knew that much about her.
He cleaned up their disposable dishes and sipped on his coffee watching her closely. Part of him wanted to just devour her, as always, but part of him was just a nervous wreck about this being her last day. What if she met someone at her next assignment, like they had met? What if she tired of him now that he wasn't a teacher to her? Was that the attraction for her? He'd gotten used to her being here, his lab smelling like her underneath the potions scents, her presence a balm on him on even the worst days at work. He loved stealing her into his private space, locking the door and making her moan his name in desperation and release. How would he get through his days without their post-lunch love-making? Without the quickie against his workbench before they left for the day? Gods, he would miss that. Worse off, he would miss her.
"I got you something." He finally just blurted out, his voice quiet and serious. "If you don't like it that's fine, but I wanted you to know how much I'm going to miss you..." He lifted the little jewelry box from his pocket and set it on the bench nearer to her.
