Hey! I'm curious, how are you so certain that your person isn't an artist?

Hi there! And oh, um, I don't mean to offend anyone. I just...

Haven't had the best of luck with artistic types in the past.

I almost asked how you knew I was an artist, but I suppose my name gives me away.

You look familiar

you should give me a chance

Are you an artist yourself?

What's your favorite book?

Well, actually, I hadn’t assumed that! I just didn’t want to offend anyone in general. I honestly wasn’t sure what to write in my profile, but now that I know you’re a writer, maybe I could ask you for pointers… haha!

Hmmmm my favorite book? If day it’s ironic, but it’s actually about artists. Patti Smith’s Just Kids</>. Probably a random answer, I know, but I find the story of the friendship and their adventures to be wildly romantic. What’s yours? I bet you could teach me a lot about literature.

I am a writer! I was the music reporter for Witch Weekly for a bit until I quit to write the biography of someone that I believe is right on the verge of making it big. Bigger than Celestina Warbeck and Wes Carlisle put together. She's phenomenal. While writing this, I've been dabbling a bit in romance-esque short stories.

I don't think a favorite book can be random. I think my favorite book would have to be The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime by Mark Haddon. It is wrote by an autistic boy's point of view and it is just so fascinating seeing how other people connect certain dots.

Are you looking for wild romance? The sort that have you breaking into gardens at 3am to pick flowers and kiss under fairy lights?

Witch Weekly must have been a very fun place to work, but it seems like striking out on your own has been a great adventure in itself. I’ll admit I haven’t read your favorite book, but it sounds like something a lot of people should read: putting yourself in others’ shoes is so important in feeling empathy for others, you know?

I… I don’t know honestly. I love, well, love. And I love the idea of falling in love, and I never have. I thought once I might have found that ‘wild romance’ (if not true love at least), but I was wrong. I still haven’t felt it, you know?

And that’s a very specific example by the way, have you done that before?

It was a blast being the music reporter, but you're right. Striking out on my own has been an adventure. I'm enjoying seeing life from someone else's point of view.

You haven't? I'm so sorry to hear that. You will though, never fear. I think everyone gets to experience one grand romantic love sort of love. Even if it ends up fizzling out.

It may be a little specific because I have done it once before. Broke into my aunts home to use her gardens. They are too beautiful not to see first hand.

You look very familiar.

How can someone look familiar if you can’t see them in the photos?

I hope you’re right about that big epic love. I suppose it’s one of the reasons I’ve signed up for this app in the first place. Why are you on here? Looking for your own epic romance?

It's your lips. They remind me of a very talented woman I know.

I am looking for my forever romance. I have reached that point in my life that I want to settle down with someone who makes me happy. Someone to share everything with. My twin flame as my cousin calls it.

Can’t they be the same? Forever and epic. Shouldn’t they be? For a romance writer, it seems like that should come easily to you.

Your cousin sounds lovely.

They can be, but not always. The two don't have to be mutually exclusive. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be easy to find a forever sort of love. I thought I had found it once before, unfortunately she passed away. It's only within the past year or two that I've gotten back out to the dating scene.

She is a handful and a half but a rather fantastic lady.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine.

...

I'm happy for you that you've found a way to heal, and have put yourself back out there. That takes a lot of strength.

It's starting to feel...

What does a perfect date feel like to you? What would you like to do? Riding through Venice canals would be mine.

Venice? That's an extravagant date! I don't really know, if I'm honest. I don't know that I've ever had a... real date. I think something small, cozy, might be my ideal, if that makes sense? A movie at home, curled up. Or dinner somewhere we can have good conversation, not too loud or too crowded... It certainly doesn't compare to Venice.

We're dreaming, so why not go extravagant? A weekend away in Venice is a rather fantastic big dream to work towards. It's too beautiful to not end up on some bucket list.

There's something to be said about a good night in, curled up under warm cozy blankets, watching favorite movies. It's a level of comfortable I don't have with many people.

You have a good point. I would say in that case... New York. Times Square. All the bustle and neon lights and finding time to just be in the middle of that with someone special - feeling like the entire world might stop, or revolve around us. That sounds pretty amazing.

I'm the same way. Not too many people I'd be that comfortable with. I do count myself very lucky to have the ones I have, though.

That sounds absolutely wonderful. Reminds me of pictures where couples are kissing but the world is still moving about in a blur around them.

I'd say at this moment, there's only one. Though that feels like oversharing. The last time I did that, I ended up blocked.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind a moment like that.

I'm glad you have that one, at least. Everyone should I think :-)
