RP: A Unique Love
Who: Lucy & Jaimeson
What: The day has finally come to move in together...
When: 14 February 2028 [backdated]
Where: Jaimeson's house
Warnings: None
Completion Status: Complete

The beauty of moving as a witch was that she could use magic for essentially all the heavy lifting. She could even use magic for the small stuff, though there were things that she still preferred to do by hand. Lucy had borrowed an expanded trunk from her Uncle George, grateful that he insisted she hang onto it as long as she needed, and had managed to shrink down all of her furniture, storing it in the trunk. The rest of her things were packed into boxes, meticulously labeled, and stacked neatly in the trunk. There was still room in the trunk when she was finished, not having accumulated a ton of extra stuff in her studio flat as yet, but that was for the best, she thought. While she hoped that she and Jaimeson would manage to make his home feel like theirs between now and finding the home they would eventually purchase together, she knew there wasn't a lot of room for her stuff there. It would be easier to blend their things when they had a new home that truly was theirs.

Truly though, Lucy didn't know how pregnant women managed moves without magic. Had her mum had to do it? Maybe she would ask her next time she talked to her. As it was, she'd finished all the packing a full half hour before Jaimeson was set to arrive. He was taking a half day to help her move, though she didn't need much help with getting her stuff there thanks to the aforementioned magic. It was more that she wanted him to help her with at least the start of the unpacking, so they could decide together where her things would mingle with his.

It was nerve wracking, blending her life so fully with his, but as unexpected as the pregnancy was and as much as it still felt like too soon for such huge milestones, Lucy did love him. She had faith that they would figure things out as they went along. She was trying not to think about all of that as she sat on the closed trunk, eating bits of diced fruit from the bowl next to her as she browsed social media on her phone while waiting for him.

Jaimeson had known exactly how he wanted to decorate the office he had added on for Lucy. Once he had the idea in mind, he had worked tirelessly to be sure that everything was perfect for her. He knew she wasn't enjoying being pregnant, or the fact they were having to rush their move in, but he hoped this small gesture might alleviate some of that.

He had been putting finishing touched on it, right up until he was leaving to pick up Lucy, and her things. Thankfully he had made it to her flat right on time, maybe only a few minutes late. "Hey, you ready?" He asked, after apparating into the living room space of her flat. He couldn't contain the excitement over showing her the office, already grinning from ear to ear, his sunglasses keeping those expressive eyes from giving him away.

Having long ago added Jaimeson to her wards, Lucy wasn't surprised to hear the soft pop of apparation. His enthusiasm, which had annoyed her before she'd given him a chance all those months ago, managed to tease a smile from her now. She tucked her phone in her pocket and stood up, nodding slightly. "Yep, all packed and ready to go." She could have easily gotten herself and her trunk to his house, but she'd wanted them to do it together.

To ensure everyone and everything arrived at his house safely, they took the floo. When they stepped out of the floo at his house, she lowered the trunk, which had been charmed feather-light, with him to the floor in front of the floo. "I'll be meeting the manager for the final walkthrough and to turn the keys over tomorrow," she told him as she turned toward him. Her stomach was a pit of nerves she was doing her best to ignore. It just seemed unfathomable that this day had already arrived. Looking at him now, she realized how much she still had to tell him about recent developments in her life, or if she should tell him about it all. She was having twins with him--shouldn't she be able to trust him?

The floo back to the house had gone without issue. It made Jaimeson nervous for her to use magical transportation but he knew pregnant women had been using magical transportation for ages. She would be fine. It didn't stop that little worried tick at the back of his head, unfortunately.

Her words had him wondering what it'd be like to do a final walk through of the very home they were standing in. He had been there long enough that it gave him an eerie feeling to think of it.

"That's fantastic, do you need me there for it?" he asked curiously, while already starting towards the door that he had magically concealed for weeks now. It was just off the living room, still on the main floor. "I wanted to show you something, before you start unpacking. Is that alright? Did you need to rest first?" he asked, suddenly worried about whether or not Lucy was tired. Did she need to take a nap? Had the traveling been too much with the twins? She was so small.

Lucy shook her head at the question. "No, I can handle it," she assured him. She would need to do a final bit of cleaning, but it would be perfectly safe and quick with magic on her side.

Her brows furrowed when he made his way to a door she distinctly remembered being a wall previously. So distracted was she with trying to sort out what that door could be hiding, she hardly registered his ridiculous question. "Totally fine," she said, looking between him and the door. "What's that lead to?" Lucy closed the distance between them, one brow raised in interest.

"Can't sneak nothin' by you," he teased her with that annoying cocky smirk he tended to get from time to time. It was then he turned the handle, pushing open the door with a flourish for her.

"My Aunt Dora is very good with expandable charms, she's who helped me with the house. She helped me add on this addition. I decorated it myself though," he admitted proudly, leaning back against the door to give her room to go in and investigate the office he had put together for his love. It was taking all of the self restraint he had not to burst out asking how she liked it.

With her eyebrows still furrowed in curiosity, Lucy walked past him into the new room. He'd gotten his Aunt to help him with an addition to the house? As soon as she entered the bright space, her breath caught in her throat, and she looked at him with wide eyes. "You made an office for me?" she asked, horrified at the way her voice cracked and her eyes hazed over with a sheen of tears. Stupid bloody hormones!

Her hand curled around her belly as she looked around the room again. The light streaming in from the window made the relatively small space feel big, and she absolutely loved the color scheme he'd chosen. It meant more to her than she could say that he'd done this for her, and she'd never felt the love he had for her more than in that moment. "It's wonderful!" she breathed.

The rush he got from seeing how happy he'd made Lucy was his favorite high. He enjoyed hearing her voice crack, seeing standing at the window, the light filtering in the window made her glow. The way she held her hand, cradling their twins? He felt his heart burst, if he was a cartoon he'd have those ridiculous hearts for eyes. She was so beautiful, he lifted his phone from a jean pocket to snap a quick quiet picture of his girlfriend. It'd be set as his home screen later.

Once the phone was back in his pocket, he joined her deeper in the room. "We each need our own spaces, I was thinking this might be good for you. I know the bedroom, no matter how much we redecorate, will always feel like my room," he admitted in a soft voice. "We can change anything you want," he promised.

The emotions threatened to burst out in tears at any moment, though she did her best to hold them back. The last thing she wanted was to start blubbering. She turned from the window and smiled at him, reaching out to him when he was close enough. "It's perfect." There might be little things here and there she would change as she settled into the work space, but the overall feel of it was so her.

"This might seem like a strange time to bring this up, but..." She paused, sorting out how she wanted to word the revelation, though she knew she needed to tell him. How could she keep it from him after this? "You know my uncle that died a couple weeks ago? Molly and I inherited an estate and a bit of money from him. We haven't talked about what we'll do with it yet, but it all feels so very big and promising. He ran a B-and-B out of it before the last recession, and it's kept bouncing around my head since I found out Saturday."

His hand found hers, stepping in close to her. He slid his arm around her, snuggling her back against his chest. It was perfect, his ego may have inflated just a touch more.

Strange time for what, he wondered as she continued on. His first thought was that she wanted to move there, but he shut down that line of thinking. She hadn't said that yet, so he wasn't going to worry about it yet. Instead he was going to be supportive, and so instead of overreacting with anger at her making a decision like that without consulting him, he instead squeezed her gently, kissing her temple. "Really? Do they have any photographs from when it was thriving? I think that'd be fantastic to see, might inspire you lot," he said helpfully, truly interested in what the place had looked like when it was the place to be.

There was something warm and familiar and comforting about the way he pulled her close and held her as he listened, at the way he seemed so supportive even though she'd not told him right away. Lucy reasoned that it had only been two days since she'd found out, and she'd needed that time to wrap her mind around it. "I'm not sure, I'll have to ask my mum, but how fantastic would that be? A B-and-B! Between Molly's creativity and my marketing skills, there's no reason we couldn't build it back up into a thriving business. I'm just sure she has the time or inclination for something that huge."

And she could admit, at least to herself, that she would be disappointed if Molly wasn't interested at all.

A B-and-B. He thought about it, as he started to ever so gently rock her in his arms. He was enjoying the moment, proud that his anger hadn't ruined it. This wasn't something that would have been possible once upon a time. "I think you definitely could, so is this what you want to do then?" he asked curiously, feeling the excitement now as it dawned on him. She had found her purpose, what she wanted to do. How could he even try to say no to that? If she ended up wanting to live there, well... He'd figure that out, wouldn't he? They had a new adventure in front of them, twins, and an entire business.

"I suppose that I could do security around the place, update the wards, things like that," he supplied helpfully, already excited for the prospect.

"Well, I'm not going to give up on my social media management stuff, but I think it's an idea," she answered. He seemed to be interested in the idea, too, as he was suggesting ways he could be involved just a moment later. Although she'd not been fishing for that, she couldn't deny the thrill that coursed through her at the thought. "You would definitely be good at that," she agreed easily. She leaned back against him and tilted her head back and to the side to invite him to meet her lips in a kiss.

His lips met hers in a soft kiss, his heart swelling to burst in his chest. His arms squeezed her again. He really loved her, that moment weeks ago at the bar? It was a distant memory. He was all in, head first down the rabbit hole.
