RP: Double Date Who: Liam/Tina and Raz/Jules What: A quiet double date dinner at Tina's house. When: 5 February 2028 Where: Tina's house Warnings: None Completion Status: Complete
The double date idea had been intimidating at first, but once Tina mentioned doing a quiet dinner in, Jules was all for it. She absolutely adored Tina, and with Holly off traveling so much for work and spending so much time with Alexander when she was home, she could admit that she'd become much closer to Tina, filling some of her best friend's absence. By the time they were all sat around the table, passing the food around, Jules was feeling particularly relaxed, two glasses of wine in already. She reached over and took Raziel's hand under the table, squeezing it lightly.
"I'm sure you can't tell the specifics, but are you working on anything exciting at work?" she asked curiously. It was so good to finally meet Raziel in a setting where she could actually feel comfortable enough to speak. The wine was helping her loosen up, as well as the fact that it was only the four of them. Liam had come over early to help her fix up dinner at the cottage, he had taken everything out of the oven while she had gone about setting the table. There was something very adult about all of it that felt like home. The more time they spent at the cottage, the more it was feeling like their home. Her mother had reminded her recently that she could redecorate, and she'd been thinking about the master bedroom ever since.
Hosting their friends was just helping make the cottage feel more like theirs. Seated across from Jules and Raziel, she thought she could get used to this. "Oh! Quite a few different things. I think we're actually really close to a few big breaks," she admitted as she poked at a green on her plate. "I've been getting back into mixing my own beauty products lately. Mostly just some soaps for now. It's so nice having use of the cottage to be able to play with my kits again. They make such a mess in the flat with Clary, I'd feel terrible," she said, finding her tongue loosened. At least she wasn't sharing secrets of her job, just secrets of her own soaps.
Raziel squeezed Juliet's hand back. This was a big night for him. He was meeting one of her friends. Sure, they'd all met previously, but this was more intimate. This was boyfriend territory. He was rather proud of himself, he'd snagged the woman of his dreams. She pushed him and encouraged his art, they worked so bloody well together. She had such a big beautiful heart and so many talents. He knew without a doubt that he absolutely loved her. He was enjoying every moment they were spending together.
He enjoyed being her rock, squeezing her hand when she squeezed his under the table. He was finding it easy to relax with the couple. "This is a beautiful cottage," he complimented the couple. He wondered if he and Juliet would get a little cottage like this. It was almost perfect, it just needed a place for them to create rather than grow in a greenhouse. Liam smiled warmly at Tina when she jumped to answer the question, rather proud of the vague answer she gave. Though she'd worked at Pucey Potions long enough to know what she could and couldn't say about the research. He took a bowl from Raziel and dished out a portion on his plate before passing it to Tina. "I've got a pretty major project that's felt rather impossible to crack for a while now. I thought I'd had it figured out last year, but it turned out the results were temporary, so there's been a lot of trial and error." A part of him wished he could tell more specifics about the Gender Affirming potion he was working to create, but it was one that he would protect at all costs. It could change everything.
Jules looked between the other couple, feeling that subtle spark of smooth chemistry coming from them. She couldn't explain it if she tried, but there was a certain energy that told her they were solid, that they were capable of standing the test of time, and she couldn't help feeling happy and excited for her friend. "That's fascinating. Hopefully you'll sort it out at some point so you can tell us more about it," Jules said encouragingly. Smiling at Tina again, she said, "Do you think you'll sell your soaps?" "Thank you," she said warmly, eyes sparkling just a touch as she glanced about the room.
Raziel could see the woman beaming, her aura seeming to merge a bit with the man beside her. He did his best to focus on what he was seeing to share with Jules, he wanted her to see it too.
Tina was thinking about Jules' question, while she chewed what she had in her mouth. Did she want to sell her soaps? She gave a slight shrug of her shoulders. "I don't know? I hadn't thought about it," she admitted honestly. "It might be a fun little side hobby. I'd enjoy making some for friends," she agreed. "What have you two been up to? You just opened that tattoo parlor on Victory Road?" she asked Raziel, enjoying the easy conversation.
"I did, it's going fantastic. I've even got repeat customers," he said, glancing at Juliet. "Speaking of, you know my newest client. Albie Potter, apparently you helped him out recently. I've been meaning to tell you," he admitted. The vision Raziel shared with her was ridiculously distracting but also incredibly heartwarming. Tina and Liam's auras weren't melding into the blinding white prisms that hers and Raziel's did, but it was merging into some lovely shades, and Jules was so excited for her friend. "Well, there's definitely nothing wrong with not monetizing everything you enjoy doing!" Though, for some reason, it was very easy for Jules to imagine Tina with her very own line of beauty care products.
Jules smiled at her boyfriend as he talked about the shop and one of his newer clients. "I saw his picture of the piece you did! It's so good," she told him, honest and supportive at the same time.
Liam looked at Raziel with interest at that. "I've been thinking about getting a tattoo. Never have before. I've just never been able to settle on what I'd want permanently. I bet you hear that a lot, though?" he said with a soft chuckle before he started eating. He'd been wondering about starting to get tattoos to represent the most important parts of his life, and he could admit to himself that he was absolutely including Tina in that list. The seed had definitely been planted. Tina was already debating how she could go about making bigger batches so that she could make extra for the family. She was certain Hailey and Kenzie would enjoy, maybe even Gavin. He seemed to care a lot about his skin, she could see him enjoying getting some of her skin care products. The family was large enough that she had a few product testers.
"Thanks love," he said to Jules, squeezing her hand under the table in thanks. He gave a chuckle to Liam's words. "I do hear it often, but it's completely understandable. I can tell you that I'm very good at taking ideas and merging them together. I'd love to work with you sometime, just give me a ring and we can have a chat. I'll draw up some things, you can see if you fancy any of 'em," he said joyfully, slipping one of his cards across the table to the other man.
Tina was surprised, but the idea had caught her interest. "Oh, what do you think you'd want?" she asked Liam curiously, excited to see just what her boyfriend had in mind. Liam chuckled softly, feeling quite put on the spot, one hand lifting to scrub the back of his neck as the other reached out to take the offered card. "I'm really not sure yet. I'll have to think about it some more, but I'll share when I've got less murky ideas," he promised his girlfriend. And he probably would call Raziel about it, see what sort of sketches the other man might come up with.
"Raziel has been working on sketch ideas for my first tattoo," Jules chimed in proudly. "He's brilliant with it! I'm quite excited to wear his art." And she wasn't the least bit concerned about what the tattoo would mean to her if things with him didn't work out. She was confident that they were meant to be, that things between them would continue to be brilliant. It took merely a second for Tina to realize she'd put Liam on the spot, noticing that nervous hand at the back of his neck. She waited until Juliet was chiming in about her own tattoo to lean in and press a kiss to his temple. A quick sort of wordless apology, her hand squeezing his arm.
"Oh, I can't wait to see what you two come up with! You're both so artistic, it's going to be gorgeous," she gushed, excited that her friend was going to be getting a tattoo. She was certain it'd be a work of art on Juliet's skin. The two were so insanely talented. She had marveled over their talents at Juliet's last paint party. She so wished she had some of their talent, she had always wanted to be the artistic sort. Unfortunately, she hadn't been blessed with those genes.
Raziel felt a bit warm at being complimented, giving a warm laugh. "I'm excited, she got me these fantastic magical inks for Christmas. I am so excited to use them, they're going to look beautiful on her," he said happily, his hand coming up to gently squeeze her thigh, pad of his thumb rubbing it. He had a few different tattoos in mind. He wanted to do a small good luck rune on her inner thigh, he had yet to mention it to her though. Now didn't exactly seem the appropriate time.
