"Buenas noches," Mia returned the greeting cheerfully. She didn't know a lot of French, but she always enjoyed when Dom would slip into her second language. It made her feel far more comfortable when she would slip into hers, her mum having made sure they learned both English and Spanish growing up.
She stepped into the flat, toeing her shoes off just inside the door. "I hope you don't mind the company! And I totally don't mind if you still have a bit of work to do. My flat was just awfully lonely," she admitted, just a touch sheepishly. She didn't want to come off desperate and pathetic, but she couldn't help being honest.
