Of course Aldrich was shopping just two days before Christmas Eve dinner with his family. He had yet to do any shopping and so he still had his parents, and all million siblings, to buy for. He had hoped that just hitting one shop would solve all of his problems, but all he’d been able to find was a beautiful journal for Fiona. He still had a long list of names he needed to tick off and a defeated attitude.
It was then that he spotted Iris, honorary cousin. Maybe she’d have some good ideas for Hyperion’s kids, because Aldrich had absolutely no idea what he was going to get Hailey or Kenzie, let alone Gavin. He didn’t give himself time to even think about what he was going to do, he was just heading across the street to catch up to Iris. “Hey! Iris!” he called out, raising his hand to catch her attention, his very small Flourish & Blotts bag in his hand.
“Are you last minute shopping too?" he asked as he caught up to her, one hand coming up to push his glasses farther up his nose. He shouldn't be bothering her, he was certain Iris had plenty of things to do that didn't involve him bothering her, and yet there he stood. In her path, asking if she was shopping too.
