The way her nose nudged his made Liam want to kiss her again, but he reminded himself that there was no rush. It wasn't as though he was the sort who typically rushed into the physical side of things, often preferring a slower approach to allow himself to fully understand and connect with his partner on a level so much deeper than the physical. But a part of him felt like he'd spent most of the year connecting with Tina in that way, despite her short-lived marriage, and so the urge felt more natural than it had in the past.
"Oh, right," he said, glancing over at the table, having completely forgotten that it was there. Of course, now that he'd acknowledged the food again, his stomach gave a soft rumble, and he chuckled. He pulled away from her, slipping his hand in hers to walk over to the table.
"Thank you," he said again as they sat. "This looks delicious." It smelled delicious, too, and he was beyond touched that she'd gone to the effort to cook for him.
