It was the first time she'd managed to keep any food down today, and she appreciated Jaimeson so much for bringing the fresh croissants when she'd messaged him even though it meant another stop even though he'd already been on his way. Lucy thought she might even be able to have one with a bit of jam the next morning. And of course, once she'd managed to keep the food down, she'd very much enjoyed stretching out and letting him massage her feet, not trusting laying on her stomach just yet for him to massage her back. Not for fear for the pregnancy, but for fear of losing her stomach after all. Much better to play it safe, she rather thought.

After a bit, though, she shifted her feet out of his lap and turned around, laying with her head in his lap instead. It might have been silly, but she wanted the closeness with him as she brought up what her mind had been spinning over not just all day but for the last week.

"What would happen between us if I didn't continue the pregnancy?" she asked softly, wondering if he would be able to tell that the question she really wanted to ask was what would happen if she did continue it.

When Lucy had told Jaimeson that she didn't want anything but him, he had stopped at the store anyway to pick up saltines, fresh fruits, and anything he could think of that might help. The fresh croissants had been easy enough to add to his order before he had apparated to her.

They then spent time lounging about her flat. He enjoyed rubbing her feet, until she shifted so her head was in his lap. It was then that his fingers started to comb through her hair, brushing it back. Her words a moment later had surprised him, but he didn't let it show. He kept running his fingers idly through her hair. "Then we will handle it together, I'm going to be here no matter what you choose," he promised after a moment of debate. He had wanted to choose his words wisely. "I'm not going anywhere, I hope you know that." He looked down at her, giving her a warm smile. "I love you, you're stuck with me. I thought we had been over this already?"

His fingers felt awfully nice stroking through her hair, and his words were a comfort even though they were as she'd expected. He'd made it clear that he thought it was her decision and would respect whatever it would be. "We have, but I needed to go over it again," she pointed out. She still hadn't quite gotten up to being about to tell him she loved him outright even though she'd said it the once. It didn't seem to bother him, though, or at least she hoped it didn't. She would get there in time.

"And what would happen between us if I did continue this pregnancy?" she asked softly. She sucked in a deep breath as she forced herself to tip her head enough to meet his gaze. Obviously she knew that he wanted to be with her regardless, but a baby would change their lives forever.

He took her at her word, nodding his head. He could understand needing to go over it again. He had gone over it thousands of times with Bella's mother.

He had been lost in thought when he heard her second question, brows raising as he looked down at her. He gave an easy shrug of his shoulders. "Honestly? We would just stay as we are. I would be there to help with everything, we would figure it all out. I learned last time, rushing into sometime just because of a baby. I honestly think it made the situation worse for Bella because I married her mother," he admitted, unconsciously holding his breath. Did she want to keep it? Were they going to do this?

Her brows furrowed at his words, her stomach flopping. "I didn't realize you'd married her mother," she admitted. She sat up then, turning toward him. She'd known that he'd tried to have a relationship with the woman after she became pregnant, but she'd not realized he was divorced. For some reason, that felt like a bigger deal.

"I think that if we do this, we definitely shouldn't rush things between us. It's only been a few months, and that's been enough for me to know I want to be with you. But I'm glad to know you won't be proposing any time soon." She had to be honest with him, and if that wasn't something he liked, it was better they find out now, she rather thought.

Jaimeson looked at least a bit sheepish when she mentioned that she hadn't known he had been married. "I don't enjoy talking about it," he admitted in a soft tone. "It was a mistake from the start but I had wanted to do what I thought was right by Bells." It had turned into a nightmare.

Hearing her suggest they might keep it excited him. He wondered just what she was thinking. He gave a nod of his head though, bridging the distance to kiss her. "No fears, I'm not going to be rushing this no matter what way it shakes out. Are you thinking we are going to keep it?" He asked in a hopeful tone.

She nodded mutely at his words, thinking it through. It made sense, of course. He'd only been seventeen? Maybe eighteen? When Bella's mother became pregnant, and she could imagine he'd felt pressured to step up in every way. It still seemed mind-boggling that he'd been married before, though. Perhaps because she was only newly twenty-one and didn't feel anywhere near ready for marriage. "Did you ever love her?" she found herself asking, though perhaps it was gauche to do so.

Her lips brushed against his lightly at the kiss. "I think that every time I think of ending it, I feel crushed with this overwhelming guilt. I think that having a baby at twenty-one is foolish and short-sighted, especially when I've just lost my career and don't have a plan for the future and no real financial stability. But I also know that I'm not in this alone. We're in this together, and I've got loads of family that won't hesitate to help if I need it. I know that I'm strong and resilient and, for whatever reason, my body decided it was ready to make a baby, despite the birth control." It was a lot to unload on him all at once and definitely more than she'd said to him on the topic so far, but it needed to be said.

Had he loved his ex? He thought about it, for just a moment. It was long enough that she knew he was taking it seriously. "I don't think I did. At the time, I thought so. After... Everything," he was trying to wrap up everything that encompassed that nightmare of a relationship. "I know there is no way I could have," he admitted, it was something therapy had helped with that.

Jaimeson doubted that Lucy was expecting him to laugh, but a happy laugh was what left his lips first. "You're serious? We're going to have a baby?" he asked excitedly, that ridiculous toothy smile of his was from ear to ear. He was going to be a dad again, he finally allowed himself to lift the lid on that little box he had put his feeling into to handle later. He finally let himself feel, squeezing her as he pulled her into a hug, lips crashing into hers.

The question was on the tip of her tongue, but Lucy bit it back. That was a long time ago, and she had to trust that he was more aware of his feelings these days, that if he said he loved her, then he did. But she still couldn't help wondering how he knew he loved her now when he'd been wrong about his ex back then.

There it was, that exuberance that she'd feared, that she'd always known he was holding back. And when she saw it so clearly now, she became overwhelmed with anxiety. Were they really? Had she truly decided? Now that he was showing his excitement, she felt panicked, like maybe she hadn't decided yet but was being cornered into the decision. She knew that wasn't fair, though. And before she could formulate words, he was pulling her close and kissing her, and Lucy let herself be swept away in the physical. She returned the kiss, bringing herself closer and shifting onto his lap, her legs straddling him.

Feeling her climbing into his lap caused automatic responses from him. He so enjoyed her in his lap, a position they seemed to find themselves in often. He'd never complain. Greedy hands came round to hold her bum, his head tipping to deepen their kiss.

Jaimeson only broke the kiss to lay a trail of feather soft kisses along her neck. "You're so bloody beautiful," he murmured, nipping playfully at her earlobe. He couldn't get enough of her, which is what had gotten them into this mess in the first place.

With him, it was all too easy to lose herself in the physical, though the irony wasn't lost on her. His hands on her, his lips, everything working to build the desire in her in a way that she hadn't thought possible with as sick as she'd been most of the day.

Lucy gave herself over to it, to him, putting everything else out of her mind for the time being. It was how she'd ended up in this predicament, but she rather thought it was worth it in that moment.
