Albie winced in sympathy for both his uncle and Kenzie, although he sort of wished he could have seen it. He'd had more fun propping up the bar, though.
Since he was going to be a big brother again in his twenties, Albie had to agree. Hopefully his dad wouldn't decide to start a new family too. "Yep, pretty much. Gotta love 'em, though." Most of them, anyway.
Something about this situation reminded him of evenings in the common room and stolen moments after curfew. Albie knew he shouldn't be thinking back on that sort of familiarity, but he was comfortable and relaxed and the joint was doing exactly what he'd wanted it to do. His fingers brushed an errant curl from Kenzie's face seemingly of their own accord.
"I always feel like it's not a proper family gathering if I haven't scandalised at least two relatives," he said with a grin.
