Lyra had the day off, which meant that Scorpius didn’t have to watch Orin. Unfortunately for Lyra, Scor had nothing better to do with his day than bother his sister. He had found himself a bit awkward the past few weeks, thinking about Albie, and the fact that Maria just didn’t seem to fit to Scorpius. When he thought of Albie with someone however, he couldn’t ever seem to place a finger on just who he saw beside his friend. It was none of his business, of this he was a thousand percent certain, and so instead of heading over to bother Albie, he found himself seated on the family room sofa, bothering Lyra.

“Think father would have a meltdown if I brought home a pup? I was looking at them the other day with this beautiful girl, Fiona,” he said wistfully, she really had been a delight. “I think she was getting one of the pups.” He was babbling, while he sat on the floor with Orin. He was helping build up blocks, making a tower of three to four, before knocking them down together.

“Do girls always ask the best friend of their boyfriend for advice with their boyfriend?” he asked rather out of the blue, using far too many words, of that he was certain. He still didn’t understand why Maria had asked him, pulling him into the middle of their relationship. He wondered if this was normal, were his girlfriends going behind his back to ask Albie for advice?
