"Well, I tried not to," he said, though something about the way his eyes crinkled just a little said that yes, perhaps he was a little guilty of it. But they were fond memories, as many of his childhood memories were. He knew how very lucky he was, compared to some people, and even though there was pain later, he still appreciated what he had.
"Oh yes, they do. My father, Theo, he inherited from his Great-Uncle after the war. I practically grew up there, it's one of my favorite places," he said with a certain amount of enthusiasm. He didn't make as much time for it as he should anymore, but he still loved to read. "You should see the back rooms and the special editions area, it might not sound magical, but there's a lot of fun things around if you know where to look."
As children, the entire herd of them had been allowed pretty much the run of the place, so long as they didn't damage anything valuable.
