"Not with a good partner," he said promptly. "I can't hold myself as the best dancer to grace a ball, but if you would like to, I'm reasonably certain I can keep us on our feet. Or provide a cushion should I fail." A small, teasing smirk played about his full lips. If he'd been a bolder man, or one more prone to flirting, he could have said any of many outlandish things. But Peter was always only himself, and so it was only a gentle invitation and a warm sort of teasing that could only be frowned on by the most proper of persons.
