Re: Peter & Addison
"Oh, I'm so sorry, and here I am prattling on about mums," Peter said, instantly contrite, his dark eyes full of compassion - not pity. "Don't worry. You're grieving. You're allowed to be however you want so long as you're not hurting anyone else," he told her seriously, by which he meant lashing out at everyone around her. There was a deep well of empathy in him too, for as much as he loved his family, parentage could be... a bit of a sore spot for him, especially when he let the darkness creep in too far. "Seriously, do feel free to smack me for the faux pax. I'm not the most socially ept to ever grace the earth."
There was a tug of something in him, not strong for he had never truly found himself instantly attracted to someone, but there was something there as he watched her eat the morsel, and it made him wary - not of her, but of himself. "I generally spend these events making a glutton of myself, and it's often a nice space to just be and chat." People would come and go, and so he didn't feel uncomfortable.
