He didn't look old by any means, and she didn't recognize him, so she didn't think he'd been in her year at Hogwarts, but she also didn't think he could be much older than her either. "Oh, it's not so strange to wait longer to have kids these days, I think. It's not like we're in a post-war baby boom." Not like her parents and, she suspected, his had been. "Which, okay, that was probably a weirdly morbid thing to say. I'm not very practiced at these things lately, either," she admitted, wrinkling her nose a bit.
"Oh, phew!" she said exaggeratedly, lifting a hand to brush the back of it across her brow as if relieved. "Though gentlemanly attempts are always appreciated, not even I could expect you to be a cushion on a night like this." It was sweet of him to say, though.
