Frankie, who had been eating the beginnings of her food at the pace of a flobberworm. It was mostly automatic and she was zoning out, which meant that when Noah dropped down at her table she jumped slightly.
"Oh, hey, Noah," she said, blinking a couple of times and trying to sit up from her slump.
"Bad day?" she asked, when she managed to focus on the fact there was something off about him. She knew she'd never get details from him more than any other Unspeakable, but generalisations were usually safe enough.
She blew slightly on her coffee and tried again, sighing slightly in relief when it wasn't so hot.
