"I have been working on this since Monday," she said with not-so-disguised irritation. "But no, no help. Just me, a giant report and the reference book for all the codes and acronyms in three? four? languages. I just have the English-German-French out, there are others." She shovelled in some more curry and chewed for a second before she continued. "Book nerd fits," she said affably. "And I do love research, even if this thing is making me feel like my brain is falling out of my ears."
She shrugged, "I mean the veg mix isn't my favourite, but it's pretty good actually. Better than I can do, for sure." She screwed up her face at the idea of bad Indian food permeating a home. "I can manage if I get the cook in paste, but I wouldn't want to try doing my own." Her cooking skills were okay, but tended to be mostly in the British, French, Italian vein. "Do you have to keep getting takeaway?" she asked.
