"I'm not particular," Jules answered. When she had guests, she typically let them choose. It was always fascinating to learn more about her friends through their music choices, or to see the changes in them through those as well as the feelings she could sense from them. "Whatever strikes your fancy," she added a beat later, smiling at him.
Juliet chuckled at his question, nodding her head. "Oh yes, I definitely think we do." Perhaps he hadn't realized that they'd picked out nearly a dozen pumpkins between the two of them. She rather thought mum and dad might enjoy displaying one in the window of Flourish and Blotts, plus she wanted several for around her cottage. "I absolutely adore the idea of carving pumpkins for each other." She couldn't help wondering what sort of carving he would choose for her.
As they started, she taught him the spells to fortify the pumpkin, the trick of cutting the bottom instead of the top to get the guts out, and then the various delicate spells to do the carving itself. As they gutted the pumpkins, she spelled the contents to separate themselves into two bowls, one for seeds and the other for the rest that would be used for compost later. The carving itself was loads of fun, and when she finished her pumpkin for him, she turned it around for him to see. "For your house," she announced, hoping he'd like the Van Gogh inspired pumpkin.
