Katarina & Open
The beauty of a vintage themed party when you already dressed in vintage and vintage style fashion every day was you knew all sorts of places you could go to find pieces, even if they weren't your usual era. Katarina had managed to source a gown from a dealer friend who let her hire it for the week. Pairing it with black gloves and a hair comb she had found and since altered to add black feathers she had added her usual string of pearls and black heels and felt entirely put together. Taming her usually curled hair into waves had taken some effort since it was so much longer than was ideal for the style, but she had managed admirably in the end.
She had been so glad when Caleb had invited her as his plus-one to Nate's party. She felt she was probably on the edge of acquiring an invite of her own, but since Caleb had no partner and was distinctly less comfortable at Taboo than she was he had jumped at the chance to bring her. Plus it meant she could be here with crutches and and an escort if things got bad, rather than needing to use her chair because it was the end of the day and she needed to work on Friday. She had been making a slow tour of the lower floor, fully intending to be back in the viewing room to grab a good seat for the showing, but for now was perched on a chair near the buffet table, plate in her lap, picking at the foods she was sure she could eat (thankfully everything was well labelled). She had lost track of the people she knew and wanted to talk to someone. She sighed at the remaining food and ate a last bite before setting the plate aside. Arranging first her dress, and then her crutches she carefully stood herself up. It took her a few moments to realign her limbs and she had to close her eyes for a minute to combat the wave of pain from her hips and knees. As she opened them again she was surprised to find herself being approached. Still, she smiled brightly and greeted the figure.
"Hi, there," she said. "Are you enjoying the party?"
