Beau + open
Beau had spent longer than he was comfortable with stressing over what to wear to the party, eventually deciding on a dark grey three-piece suit though somehow wishing that he had found something more flamboyant. Even if he wasn't ready to be fully himself around some of the guests, Taboo was a safe haven for all sorts of things. Beau just hadn't been able to decide if he wanted to blend in or stand out.
He didn't care that the first episode of By the Grace of St. Mungo was airing tonight. Beau wasn't a fan of watching himself on screen, so he'd actually been glad of the opportunity to avoid it. He also wasn't a fan of how the birthday boy had got into his head. Over a week later and he kept scrolling back to the text where Nate told him that he liked the idea of being the last guy Beau dated. Nate had known him for long enough that he had to have known how much Beau would obsess over something like that and he was awed and infuriated in equal measures by how sneaky that was.
Beau sipped his martini, tearing his gaze away from the birthday boy across the bar. He had already nursed his drink long enough that it was no longer as chilled as it should be, but he was in no rush. Tonight Beau had two rules: don't get drunk and don't have sex with Nate.
