Sunday morning had been the end of her marriage. She had come home from her mother's and told her husband, it had been worse than ripping off any band aid. She had spent the past day focusing on herself. She had taken one of those ridiculously long showers, where she did her hair, nails, moisture absolutely everything, and didn't come out until you couldn't tell she had been sobbing all morning.
Somewhere after dinner she had started feeling more like herself. Her mother had popped by and the pair had on their favorite vinyl's, dancing around the house. It had made her feel more herself than she had felt in months. They had ended their night together with her mother helping her color her hair, only the tips for now. She had been too exhausted to do the whole thing.
Getting ready for work on Monday morning seemed to help extend that happy feeling, she was able to smile back to Liam when she came in. The genuine smile that lit up her whole face, one that really hadn't been seen in some time now.
It just before lunch that she had started to realize, she couldn't stay at her mother's forever. She shot a group message to her closest family, and best friend, before she put the phone to silent and slid it away. She was certain at least a few of them would have something off color to say, she didn't want to hear it just then.
As if he knew she was trying to keep her good vibes going, Liam came over to her desk and distracted her from her thoughts about the ridiculous phone. "Thanks, I'm hoping to go all the way bubblegum soon. I was just exhausted after dancing around with mum," she admitted, feeling her breath catch as she realized she had revealed more than she had meant. "She was keeping me company," she said nervously, pulling the arms of her sweaters down over her hands anxiously. She couldn't believe she had kissed him Saturday night! There hadn't even been any alcohol!
