There was one other way to quieten the stream of anxious thoughts that flowed through him and that was a warm body held against his. Beau hadn't planned to exercise that option in any way tonight, just looking for a few hours of distraction with music and dancing and then hopefully a little something to help him escape. This wasn't the first time he'd kissed a man in a dark corner of a club and the thrill of the clandestine never wore thin, even if he usually regretted it the next day.
Beau stretched up into the kiss, losing himself to long, blissful moments of quiet as the baser parts of his brain shut out other things. He pulled back reluctantly and a little short of breath, realising that his fingers had ended up in Phoenix's curls. "How was that? Or do I still owe you?" Beau asked, more comfortable to flirt now.
