Phoenix couldn't quite read Beaumont's reaction right away, and that bothered him a bit. He was usually much better at reading people. The words made it seem as though he were receptive, but there was something guarded in the man's eyes. He wanted to see those pretty blues relaxed, and so he pondered what sort of things would work best for him.
"You're not an undercover agent, are you?" he asked lightly, humor sparkling in his dark eyes. It would be such a shame if he were, though those weren't the vibes Phoenix was reading. "I might have a few things that could help... for a price." His mind flashed to Eve and the price she'd happily "paid" for his help, quite without his permission, and he pushed thoughts of the delightfully curvy woman from his mind so he could give Beaumont his full attention.
