The surprise Dagny expressed wasn't unusual, though Jules could tell it was of the pleasant sort, which reassured her. It always made her feel so uncomfortable when she could tell someone was disapproving of her choice to study art in the Muggle world. "Yeah, there really aren't a lot of opportunities to study art in our world, and Uncle Ferrol's partner, Aunt Natalie, really encouraged me to give it a go. She's a big designer in both worlds, so it's just a thing, I guess."
She glanced at Thad, wondering if he'd told Dagny about their uncle's highly unconventional poly marriage. Somehow, she didn't think he had, but she also didn't think it would be problematic. Dagny seemed to be quite open-minded, and she already liked her quite a bit. "It was... overwhelming. I stayed in a dormitory, which should have been easy after seven years at Hogwarts, but there was a lot I didn't know culturally. And, of course, I had to hide my magic. But I finished the two-year program in just a year and came back home." She'd lived in her little cottage ever since, though she'd slowly become more social this year. She'd needed the break after Hogwarts and then Uni. "And I loved it, really. I make it sound like it was awful, but it wasn't. I just have trouble being around a lot of people all the time. It can be too much to process," she admitted, though she didn't think Thad had explained about her gifts, either.
