He shrugged amiably. He'd spent enough time as bar staff that he didn't mind pretending to be staff somewhere else. "Thanks," he said when the drink appeared.
"Eh, I'm sure I could find my way around if needs be," he said. Even the barest glance behind the bar told him something about the set up. "And I don't think people will be wanting the cocktails I don't know how to make right now."
He couldn't help but laugh and grin at the question. "Two things," he said, holding up the relevant fingers in time as he explained. "One: I've got a meeting nearby this afternoon and two: getting in and out of The Phoenix in a rush isn't always easy, and I don't want to be late." He put his hand down. "You know what it's like. You show up and it gets busy and you get asked to help out and ease the load and the next thing you look up and it's three hours later!" Not that he didn't enjoy the rush of it, or helping family out, but it was still hard work.
