He blushed and covered his smile with a hand, "I wasn't sure if you'd like it, but I've been practicing and Mum is pretty sick of scarves at the moment." He'd gifted Hermione roughly four different colors so far. He nodded at her comments about Lily - he'd almost gone to work at Gringotts, of course his training would have been very different. As it turned out, he ended up with a fairly normal nine to five type gig, and he loved it and felt maybe it was fate, but he sort of hated that he couldn't fully understand certain parts of Sofia's life anymore.
"I can see that. I think my Mum might have preferred me going into the Ministry for the same reason, so she could understand, you know?" It was no secret that Hermione had hoped Hugo would follow in her footsteps, but at least after nearly six months, she'd stopped grumbling about Pansy. The women got along these days, but Hermione still hadn't been super thrilled to lear her little golden child was going to work - especially directly - for Mrs. Nott.
