It was as though a wall had fallen between them, with it glaringly obvious that Becca did not feel at all comfortable discussing whatever it was that was bothering her. Fiona did her best not to bristle--Becca wasn't one of her many cousins who knew they could talk to her about anything, there truly was no reason to take offense.
