After one of the most exciting Quidditch seasons seen in some years, the Montrose Magpies face off against Pride of Portree, bolstered by home field advantage and a stadium filled (mostly) with Magpies enthusiasts. The game begins promptly at 3 pm, with Pride quickly taking control of the Quaffle. Both team Keepers defend their goals admirably, though the Chasers have all clearly been training hard, as four hours after the start of the game, the Magpies and Pride are tied with 300 points each. Although the Magpies eke ahead with three consecutive goals, the Pride Beaters step up their game, keeping the Magpies from scoring again while their own Chasers manage five goals, giving them a 20 point lead.
It is nearly 8 pm when the Magpies Seeker barrels suddenly toward the other end of the pitch, though the Pride Seeker is closer. A hush falls over the stadium as the Seekers race to make the fateful catch, and when Montrose Magpies Seeker, Thad Nott, shoots upwards just before what would have been a devestating impact with the opposing Seeker, the Golden Snitch is firmly in his grasp. The Montrose Magpies win, 480 to 350, and secure their place in the Quidditch Final this Saturday.
