Aldrich: I finally took the leap, I sent the owl to Violet Nott. Wish me luck, I'm hoping I can talk her into this.
Aldrich: I think the biggest hurdle is going to be the fact that she realizes she is only 20 and doesn't have much of a story to tell yet. What she's not realizing is that her whole story is just waiting to happen, she needs someone there to capture the moments.
Aldrich: I sound fucking insane, I have to. This is what I want to do though, so I guess I gotta buckle up huh?
Aldrich: What are you up to this fine Saturday?

Athena: You got this! don't over think everything. sure she doesn't have much yet, but you know it'll sell out just from her sheer popularity, and it's something that can be added to like every five years or so, especially if you keep up with her.
Athena: You can totally get her to agree to it, you're very persuasive when you want to be.
Athena: Not much. I slept in after that late night of all the fucking paperwork after that arrest. So I'm just getting around to figuring out the day.

Thank you for helping push me to do this. I don't think I would have done this if you hadn't. I'd still be miserable at WW. I ran into Addison again, after the gala. Though to say ran into feels like a stretch. We got scheduled an event together. I think that was sort of the tipping point, things are always going to be strained around there.
It sounds like you need a spa day, or maybe just a day we take the first port key out of here?

The idea had stuck mid-conversation with Athena, to just take the next Portkey out of London. He didn't care just where they went, so long as they were not in London. The only person he wanted to see today was her, and it seemed he was going to get his birthday wish.

Once he had gotten the information from the Ministry for the next Portkey location, he shot the time and location to Athena, before packing an overnight bag. He hadn't told her just where they were going, holding out until he was with her in person. He hoped she liked Dolomites, Italy.

Aldrich arrived at the meeting spot first, a black backpack on his back. He had worn a pair of jeans, his hiking boots, and just a simple red tshirt. He had packed a few back ups for later, once they got situated wherever they landed.

The second he saw Athena walking up to the spot, his smile was ridiculously large. He had so missed her. "Hey! You're still sure you wanted to do this?" he teased her, walking to meet her. "I called ahead to book us a hotel, I didn't want us arriving too late, and somehow not finding a room," he admitted, not exactly one for camping.

Athena didn't really care where they ended up, just that they were taking off on a spontaneous adventure. It was a lovely surprise, especially given that she'd had no real plans, but she quickly threw together a go bag and prettied herself up a little before heading out to meet Aldrich.

She grinned brightly at him as she caught sight of him. She was finding herself becoming rather attached to the big goof, and she found she didn't really mind the fact. She was mostly dressed simply, but had thrown on the make up, and her shirt was a casual scoop neck with a larger shirt thrown over it, sleeves rolled up. Almost a boyfriend shirt, except it actually probably belonged to a relative.

"Of course I am," she said, embracing him as she reached him and pressing her lips lightly to his. "Yeah, probably nicer to not have to rough it or to figure out where mum keeps the tent," she said. Of course Dora had a tent she'd pimped out all on her own - she'd done side work in that for years, custom jobs making some good money even if the work could be tedoius.

He enveloped her in a warm embrace, grinning happily, and not even bothering to pull fully away from her. "I also enjoy ordering room service, tents don't usually come with those," he admitted, though he was certain that if anyone could figure out how, he was certain it was Athena's mother. He was trying hard to not think of her as Aunt Dora anymore, especially now that he was fooling around with Athena.

"We've got about thirty seconds," he said, finally moving so that they could get to the portkey. It was a beat up toy truck that may have at one point been red. Aldrich picked it up, holding it out towards Athena. "I think the couple that were originally taking this trip canceled?" he admitted, chuckling nervously as he felt his stomach give a flip. He was used to spending the night with her, suddenly he realized this was a bit heavier. They were on a date, that would last overnight. It had been far too long since he had done that, he found he was nervously excited to be exploring it with Athena.

"Hmm, I think it depends on where you're camping and if you have house elves," she said, voice warm with amusement. "Pretty sure Uncle Blaise doesn't skimp on those tings even in the middle of nowhere." She herself didn't have any problem when it came to compartmentalizing things and people. So the fact that they'd grown up around each other meant little to her, since she knew they weren't actually related.

Athena pressed the portkey between both of their hands, so neither of them could drop it. "Well, their loss, our gain," she said, and then just as the portkey sensation hooked behind her navel, she leaned up and kissed him, just so the sensation could be added to that of a kiss.

They landed moments later in Dolomites, Italy, just feet from one of the large lakes. He was grinning as he dropped the portkey, taking it all in for a moment. It was more beautiful than he could have hoped when he had just chosen the first portkey out of town.

"What do you think?" he asked her, turning his attention to Athena. Eyes were lit up, Aldrich was ready to race off into the water, or maybe start a hike up a mountain, he couldn't pick which. Hell, he was happy to just have lunch right there in that spot. He was certain no matter what they did, he'd find himself enjoying their first adventure date.

She took a moment to look around, smiling. It looked absolutely lovely, which was nice because taking random portkeys did NOT always end up like that. For all they'd known they could have ende dup in Siberia or the Rubakali. "I think," she said after a second, "That it's absolutely beautiful and that we ended up lucking out."

She grinned at him. "Come on, let's get to the water and dip our feet in before we eat. Work up a bit of an appetite," she added, perhaps a bit slyly, but she'd been busy lately, though she was trying pretty hard to not be as much a workaholic as she had been when establishing herself, mostly so she could spend more time iwth him and with Hailey. She wanted to start changing her priorities, she thought, and focus just as much on the people in her life now that her job was at least aimed in the right direction.
