The awkward was making him uncomfortable, and finally he did what he did best. He channeled his father, and like a stubborn bull, he addressed the elephant in the room. "Hey, so... I know we ended things on good terms, I know everything that was going on," he hinted, one hand coming up to rub awkwardly at the back of his neck. His eyes had found his shoes a moment, as he tried to find his words.
"I just had thought that when you'd be ready to date again, you might ring me up. I enjoyed our relationship," he admitted finally, lifting his gaze to meet hers. These were words he had to say to her face, not his shoes. It was going to be hard, he was about to have his heart trashed, but he had honestly hoped that she would call. Of course, he'd moved on by now, but he was still curious. He had to know.
