She never understood it. In the weeks leading up to her gigs she agonized over every detail from her outfit to her setlist. She had already messaged the proprietor of the Howling Pint Pub to make sure Violet and Rachel's names were on the list at the door. When he asked her if there was anyone else she paused. After their late night wine tasting she wondered if she should add Chet to the list. She sent a text with his name and a caveat that he may or may not show.
She flipped her phone facedown on her desk and began packing up her guitar and gear. The guys would meet her at the venue with the rest. She looked around her studio flat once more grabbing her phone and disappearing in a loud crack on her way to the pub.
