Since it had been announced, Brian had been toying with the idea of asking his sister to be his ... accomplice for the evening. Most of the negativity had blown over in the past week or so, and they had since ceased their physical relationship (at least on the level to which it had elevated). So, he didn't really see any harm in poking a bit of fun at themselves while enjoying each others' company. To the best of his knowledge, no one had asked Betsy to be their date.

So as not to waste any more time (or give any early birds another chance to ask), after his morning shift let off, he made his way up to Betsy's door and peeked his face in before sliding through the half-opened entrance. "Good morning," he said, quietly. Whether or not she was awake, she was still in bed. Some mornings he knew she disappeared quite early and went to the Danger Room or gym (or even to see in on him - how novel).

Brian sat himself on the edge of her bed and leaned over, resting his forearms across his thighs. "You'd better get up, you know. Anymore beauty sleep and I'll have to keep Excalibur on my person at all times."

Elisabeth had been floating between that state of being awake and being asleep when Brian came calling. When she heard his voice, a soft groan erupted from her throat as she turned over onto her side; the better to see her brother, when she decided to look at him. Betsy muttered a sleepy, "'Morning, Bri-Bri" and her eyes opened fully to focus in on Brian, who had come to sit beside her.

Normally, she would be working out or something by now. But, it was Sunday: The Day of Rest. She usually didn't get out of bed until after nine or ten on Sunday, because for the next six days of the week, she'd be up at the crack of dawn; she liked being the first in the gym and/or Danger Room on most mornings. Today, however, she was quite content just lying in bed.

A light chuckle sounded when she heard his latter comment. "I don't think you have anything to worry about," she said. Men weren't exactly trying to knock her door down these days, especially now that the news of her and her brother engaging in lewd acts had become public knowledge. It was a little disheartening, but she was sure it would blow over... in time.

Brian found his twin's hand tangled amongst the bedding and gave it a squeeze before bringing it to his lips and kissing the side of it. He shifted so it rested in his lap for a moment before he released her again, then shifted so he was facing the blonde woman better. He fought a frown at her negativity. He didn't like that kind of talk - whether she was being humble or being legitimately upset. She was gorgeous and he knew she was aware of it. Her comment had been offhanded, though, so he didn't linger.

"This whole 'prom' business - what do you think?" he began, generally. "I was thinking we should really wow them and pop in together. You know, matching tie and dress and the whole nonsense." As if they hadn't had enough of that in their younger days. Oh! Matching outfits! Great, mum.

"Unless you've had another offer... in which case, dear sister," his faux-surrender to some unnamed man was as over-acted here as it could be, "I would humbly withdraw."

Ah, yes; the prom. Betsy had toyed with the idea of asking Warren to be her date, but due to the general weirdness that was surrounding the twins as of late, she decided against it. Not that Warren had spoke an ill word against either of them, of course; it was just that she just felt she either needed to go 'stag' or not go at all. Not going at all seemed a bit extreme, though.

Elisabeth Braddock loved parties, and just because some less than savory information had gotten leaked out to the general public didn't mean she had to turn tail and hide. Most of the bad stuff had long since passed, anyway. And what better way to move on than to poke a little fun at the situation?

Her face suddenly brightened at the thought of going as Brian's date. "I'd be honored to be your date for the evening in question, Mr. Braddock," she informed him in the most proper and dignified voice she could must this early in the morning. She was full of mirth, clearly.

"Hmm, matching outfits... Now that certainly brings back memories," albeit a lot of embarrassing ones, but she could look back and laugh at them now.

Something about twins in matching clothing seemed to tickle just about everyone's funny bone.

"I was always just thankful there wasn't any Von Trapp family business going on. I don't think Jamie would've participated willingly." He grinned - for more than one reason. Everyone matching - in curtains! No. Certainly not.

So he had a prom date.

"I'll wear that deep purple vest and such," he told her. He knew she had enough red, blue and purple in her wardrobe to do Marie Antoinette proud. "But all that talk can wait," he added. Brian moved to stand, then shifted his weight so he was bent at the waist. "Get out of bed sometime before noon, you." He kissed Betsy's forehead once and touched his finger to his nose teasingly before he stepped back and grinned again. This was going to be a riot. And fun.

"I have to get some sleep, though. So, wake me up if your excitement cannot be contained." Sarcasm.

"And don't forget all the singing," she reminded him with a grin of her own. The Sound of Music... Good lord, she hadn't seen that film in ages. Maybe one of these days she'd actually take the time to sit down and review it... and make her beloved brother watch it with her?

Ha! That would certainly be amusing.

"Hmm, I think I know what I can wear then," Betsy informed him. She had a lovely dress that would make up with his deep purple vest perfectly, hanging up in her closet. And she had never gotten the chance to wear it. The prom seemed as good a time as any to debut it.

"I'll get up when I'm good and ready," she began to pout, but she was only teasing... sort of. However, Betsy found it was hard to sleep past 9:00 AM, even on God's day of rest.

"Go get some beauty sleep, Bri-Bri. Then maybe I can model my dress for you later."
