What a night. Lightning and fire and drama. It had been very late - or very early, depending on one's point of view - before Sirius and Remus had gotten to bed. It came as no surprise, especially to Sirius, that he didn't feel like rising at the crack of dawn. Sirius appreciated his sleep, and he valued the time he was able to spend with Remus in the bed they shared. Times like these were too precious to squander.
However, no matter how he tried to convince himself otherwise, Nature had her own ideas, and worked hard at gaining Sirius' attention. Grumbling softly to himself, so as not to awaken Remus, Sirius quietly rose and availed himself of the chamber pot in the corner. Then his stomach rumbled and he got the most amazing idea.
He'd run down to the kitchen and fix breakfast for the two of them, bring it back up and feed Remus in bed. He couldn't help but smile at the thought.
He dressed in a comfortable pair of jeans, and a tight T-shirt that he was sure would please Remus, slipped on his trainers. He would have gone barefoot but he'd discovered a long time ago that cooking in bare feet was a dangerous proposition at best. Just in case Remus woke before he returned, he penned a quick note in the journals to him and headed downstairs.
He was about to head toward the kitchen when he spotted a familiar blonde head and he paused. Relations with Narcissa had been strained for some time, although they were much better than between himself and Bellatrix. He hated Bella - Cissa, he just didn't understand. Should he pass by and pretend he hadn't seen her? Hope she didn't say anything to him?
Or should be say something, even if she chose not to answer? He debated with himself for a moment. What would Remus want him to do? That decided it. Even if she ignored him, he had to at least try.
Taking a deep breath, he continued in the direction he'd been heading. As he came abreast of his cousin, he paused. "Hello, Narcissa," he said in a quiet voice.
